THE FIREBOMBING
“Soul. Punk. Union.” CD
FROM THE ALBUM NOTES: “This record was recorded over three weekends in Hayward, California. Andro Ernst engineered and produced at Art of Ears studio. We used a Vox 4-Watt amp (Todd), a Marshall 5-Watt amp (Garrett), and a 30-Watt amp (Cody, playing through an Ampeg Gemini II) for the recording. All amps used were class-A and turned all the way up. Bob played vintage Tama Superstar drums, Saluda Cymbals and Ludwig snares. We care about tone. Probably too much. Thanks to all of our friends, in bands and otherwise. You know who you are and how much we love you. That’s all we need to say in thanks. Love all of you, absolutely. All songs by The Firebombing, except “No Love Lost” (Joy Division) and ‘Shout Bamalama’ (Otis Redding) – and a line was stolen from TS Eliot for ‘Can’t Repent.’ But don’t tell anyone.”

PRIMA VOLTA “11 Songs of Some Sequential Matter” CD

The first time (la prima volta) for most things can be an adventure. In this case, the collaboration that lasted nearly six years culminates in the only (and early) recording from a warm garage in Reno, Nev. (spring, 2000). Prima Volta had been playing music together for less than two years, and this time would be a creatively prolific one for all of us. Documented only with a 4-track cassette recording and our fond memories, this year, 2011, Bob rerecorded Rob’s new vocal tracks straight through with some new melodies added. Readdressing this project would prove that the adventure of playing and recording music sometimes takes a second effort even after 13 years had passed since Prima Volta first strung the guitars, changed the drum heads, fixed a power cable, and turned on our amps. This is indie rock before indie rock was cool. CD and MP3s available everywhere online:

28 DECIBELS “Threats for Telling” CD
Acoustic pop by Rob Borges The album “Threats for Telling” is a culmination of a year of songwriting. After letting his guitar freeze in his Reno, Nevada garage for a few winters, Rob Borges brought his guitar back inside, changed his strings and started writing again. Songs on this album reflect a more somber tempo and focus than previous works. Still often with an aggressive strum and with melodies of a quieter contemplation, 28 Decibels shows Borges’ progression from his punk rock days with the band Zoinks! toward a more singular and unified vision. This album pivots anguish and uncertainty into quiet, often isolated celebrations. The result is an album of balancing memory with an excitement for tomorrow. This is his first solo project. THE FIREBOMBING “WRECKAGE” CD
Remember listening to that record you heard when you were 15, the one that changed your life? 15 years later, you’re still listening to it, wondering what your life’s become and what to do about how it never turned out the way you’d hoped. That’s The Firebombing: a really fine line between singing and shouting, balancing composure and destruction, cranking out stripped-down, up-tempo punk for an era that needs it now more than ever.
